Fushimi Inari Taisha & Sando Chaya / Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice and agriculture. Located at the base of Mount Inari—which stands 233 meters (764 ft) above sea level—the shrine grounds feature a 4-kilometer (2.5 mi) network of mountain trails leading to numerous smaller shrines, taking roughly two hours to complete the hike. Along the steep paths between the Mitsutsuji and Yotsutsuji intersections, traditional teahouses offer perfect spots to rest during your climb.
